Hearst Castle

I recommend this spot as an utter exemplification of a certain time and philosophy in America and it should be maintained for that reason. Aesthetically, it's unimaginative and boorish-- copy/pasting unrelated motifs from around the world with no cohesion (i.e., Christian icons and furniture are strewn about literally because they were cheap to acquire). Politically, it's of course far beyond passe. But history is history-- it's worth preserving as closely as possible and experiencing for yourself first-hand. Plus at Christmas, there are decorations, which I can also recommend. 🏛️🎄🗿
