Top 23 from 2023

I thought it'd be interesting to pick out my favorites from the year within some constraint and "only 23" seemed about tough enough-- and was! These show a bit more personal style starting to form, IMO. I particularly like multiple layers and conveying the candid feel of being in a place. It's been almost 5 years since I grabbed a camera in advance of our Japan trip and, despite fears of becoming another bearded white tech guy into a "gear" hobby, it continues to be fun and fulfilling. I think I'll keep doing it! FOR NERDS ONLY 🤓: a Sony A7III with 85mm F1.8 lens snapped 5 (all roller derby) and both the 20-70mm F4 and 24mm F1.4 took 2 (Cabo & night). Fully 14 were taken with the Fujifilm X100V-- the only option for many events that don't allow "professional" cameras and way less intimidating to take out casually. *Don't* pay over retail for it though; just back-order and wait patiently (like I did 😉).
